High School Hockey Player Gives A Great Interview And Everything Like That
Now THAT is how you give a postgame interview. Want to be forgotten as one in about a billion players who have said “yeah we just played a real hard game and stuck to the plan. It feels great to get the win here tonight but we have the semifinal matchup to start getting ready for right away so we’ll celebrate a little but then it’s right back to work”? Well by all means, go ahead. I won’t stop you. But if you want to make a name for yourself like Wayzata High captain Mark Senden here, well then you’ve gotta come up with a little catch phrase for yourself. Give the people at home a little something to remember you by, and everything like that. By my count, Mark dropped “and everything like that” 11 times here. Eleven. 1 minute interview, 3 questions asked, 11 “and everything like that’s”. Just think about how impressive that is for me real quick.
And with Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament is well underway. Wayzata got the 3-1 win over Burnsville and they’ll take on Stillwater in the semis tonight at 6. Stillwater gets to the semifinals after beating Farmington yesterday 4-1 and still only have one loss on the season. If you remember, Stillwater got to the tournament off this absurd goal last weekend.
The other semifinal matchup in the AA bracket will be Eden Prairie vs Grand Rapids, just in case you’re into that sort of thing. Here are a couple more quick highlights from the tournament so far.
RIP that water bottle.
For 6 seconds, I’m willing to put aside the hatred for The Cauldron. Just long enough to watch Grand Rapids senior Eric Soderberg show off that immaculate flow and stache combo. Just incredible work all around that will surely be featured in the 2016 Minnesota State High School Hockey All Hair Team video soon.
